Changes to the Bundeskartellamt’s decision divisions as of 1 May

On 1 May 2025 changes to the responsibilities of the 7th and 9th Decision Division and Decision Division V will come into effect. In addition, the heads of the 7th and 9th Decision Division will also change. The following adjustments are made:
- Dr Katharina Krauß (former Head of the 7th Decision Division) will take over as Head of the 9th Decision Division, while Birgit Krueger (former Head of the 9th Decision Division) will become Head of the 7th Decision Division.
- Decision Division V will become fully responsible for the telecommunications sector.
- In future, the 7th Decision Division will be responsible for information technology (hardware and software), including the economic sectors “Cloud computing and artificial intelligence” and “Internet-based digital distribution platforms for application software (app stores)”.
